Stacy & Cody: A Love Written in the Sand

When Love Takes Its Time ⏳

In 2014, Stacy left El Paso with a suitcase full of hopes and dreams and moved to Dallas-Fort Worth to study. She stayed with her aunt and uncle while building her life, not knowing that love was just a few family dinners away.

Cody was already part of the extended circle. Their families were close — his mom and Stacy’s aunt were good friends — and he had grown up golfing with her cousin. They’d seen each other at family gatherings, exchanged smiles, maybe a few conversations. But nothing more. At the time, Cody was in a relationship and living out of state in Arkansas. The stars weren’t quite aligned.

Years passed. They both grew, changed, lived. And one day, Cody moved back to DFW — a little older, a little wiser, and finally ready for something new. Something real. He reached out to his mom and asked for Stacy’s number. 🥺 Yes. It started just like that.

In January 2022, they went on their first date. And you know what? Sometimes, when it’s right, it’s just… right.

A Vineyard, a Birthday, and a Ring 🍷💍

Fast forward to April 2023. Stacy’s birthday weekend. Cody had planned a special getaway to Fredericksburg, a small Texas town famous for its rolling vineyards and charming wine culture. The plan was simple: wine tasting, relaxation, time together. Or so she thought.

As they walked through the peaceful rows of grapevines at Grape Creek Vineyards, Stacy probably imagined nothing more than a relaxing afternoon. But Cody had something else in mind.

Between the vines, with the warm sun bathing them in golden light, he got down on one knee. The ring. The surprise. The champagne. The "yes." It was romantic, spontaneous, and utterly them. 💕

They toasted to forever with wine and laughter, surrounded by the beauty of the vineyard and the quiet knowing that everything was about to change — beautifully.

A Wedding in Mexico: Where It All Began 💃🌴

But the story doesn’t start with that proposal — not really. The true spark? It lit up in 2019, on a dance floor in Costa Rica. Stacy’s cousin was getting married, and guess who got paired up as salsa partners?

Yes, Cody and Stacy.

They danced together without knowing they were writing the prologue of their own wedding story. That destination wedding planted a seed — a feeling that maybe, one day, something magical could grow between them.

So, when it came time to choose their wedding destination, the answer was clear: Mexico. Warm, welcoming, full of rhythm and memories. A place where love could be celebrated not just in one day, but over several — with family, friends, music, beach sunsets, and joy in every detail.

After researching venues across Cancun, they fell in love (again) with the Dreams Riviera Cancun — especially the gazebo and the beach deck, surrounded by nature and that signature Mexican light. 🌅

A Bride’s Secret Weapon? Confidence ✨

Every bride dreams of feeling stunning on her wedding day. And Stacy, like many of our VO evolution brides, wanted more than just a pretty face — she wanted to feel confident, radiant, and true to herself.
